I found Mr. Poole’s lecture on anonymity quite interesting. I, for one, believe that there certainly is a a place in social media for anonymity. Trivial things that do not require a persona attached to the comment are great examples (Mr. Poole’s example of 4chan). And the fact that anonymity remains makes the personified communities all the stronger because the people of which they are made up all desire to be a part of the subject community.
